With Melbourne losing to Collingwood and West Coast surprising Adelaide in the final round of the AFL season, Cross will be free of his running commitments with the Demons.
Cross has played nine matches this season.
His inclusion will help cover the likely loss of underrated midfielder Alex Jones.
Jones injured his knee in Albury’s win over Myrtleford with the Tigers sweating on the seriousness of the problem.
Meanwhile, Yarrawonga’s Richard Handreck will front the tribunal on Wednesday night after being reported for engaging in a melee against Wodonga in the reserves.
Wodonga’s Jack Stefani has accepted a week for striking.
Wangaratta Rovers’ Josh Naish has been suspended for two weeks for striking North Albury’s Connor Smith in the reserves.
