Curtis starred in the midfield with his strong play and precise kicking seeing him take out the Alex Jesaulenko Medal.
He will take over as coach of Lavington from James Saker in coming weeks.
Curtis won a thirds premiership with Wodonga as a 15-year-old and followed that with a reserves flag.
Former Howlong midfielder Beau Walker played for Belconnen in the grand final but struggled to make the impact which saw him take out the AFL Canberra league medal.
Curtis finished runner-up in the medal.
Walker and Queanbeyan Tigers star Josh Bryce topped the count with 18 votes, but Bryce was ruled ineligible due to suspension.
Curtis finished second with 15 votes.
