Hundreds of people have been evacuated from West End Plaza this morning as fire alarms were triggered by a malfunctioning fire panel.

Thankfully there was no fire for Albury Civic Station members to put out, but captain John Vandeven said it was difficult to locate the cause of the alarms going off.
“The fire panel was a bit fried and the alarms were going off – as our members were going through the centre another alarm would go off, so it was difficult to find out what was going on,” he said.
The brigade was called to the centre at 8.40am but with no imminent threat of fire everyone was safely back at work within the hour.
