Mitta Valley Landcare Group will showcase the region’s local produce in a two-course lunch on October 15 at Fernvale Hall.
Eat Local Sunday spokeswoman Robyn Scales said there would be four Eat Local Sunday events over 12 months to raise money for the Fernvale Hall.
“Mitta Valley Beef Co-op will supply beef while a range of country-style desserts will be on offer including lemon meringue, raspberry bread and butter pudding and pavlovas,” she said.
Bird life ecologist Victor Hurley will talk about his knowledge of birds of prey found in the Mitta Valley.
A farm gate pop-up market will offer artisan foods and crafts from 10am.
Melbourne’s Michael and Radhika Samthanam-Martin funded the event to encourage the development of food and agricultural ventures.
