Albury LibraryMuseum and Lavington library are celebrating International Games Week with card games, board games and even computer games.
Albury Mayor Kevin Mack said the week was about putting down the screen.
“It’s about positive interaction whether face-to-face or online,” he said.
“It’s about getting people engaging and understanding the educational and social benefits of playing games.
“Whether online or not they take a bit of thought, it’s not just about sitting in front of a television.
“You have to think about what you’re doing and use your intellect.”
Cr Mack said the daily games sessions that run from 10am to 4pm had been well received, with good attendance numbers.
“You can do this at school or home,” he said.
“Instead of watching television or DVDs you’re doing something together.”
