Simonds Homes has opened at the site which has been vacant since Spargo Motors closed in May 2016.
Regional sales manager Sean Burns said Simonds had signed a five-year lease with the Spargo family which owns the land.
“We just thought the exposure and signage would give us a real profile,” he said.
Simonds had an office in Albury’s Dean Street.
It plans to open a selection centre at the Five Ways.
The site was home to Blacklocks Ford used sales.
In the 1970s it housed a BP service station, Twin Cities car yard and a National Bank branch on the Union Road corner.
