Border kart racer Anthony Alessi has recorded his first major win at the Victorian State Cup in Swan Hill.

The nine-year-old took out the Cadet 9 event in just his first year of racing.
Alessi is the Cadet 9 Albury-Wodonga Kart Club champion with three lap records to his name at Albury, Swan Hill and Griffith, reaching speeds of 98km/h.
“I love going to different tracks, racing against other kids and meeting new people,” he said.
Also racing from a young age and making his way up through the junior classes is Blair Van Ree .
He was the second of the Albury-Wodonga Kart Club members to come home from Swan Hill with a prestigious black plate.
The Border club is hosting three big meetings next year, starting on February 11 with round one of the Golden Power series, followed by rounds of the Australian Kart Championship and the Rotax Pro Tour.
