Hanley has entered Chew Toy in race four, while Equal Chance will contest race five of the six-race program.
It’s been a successful start to the season so far for Hanley, with five-year-old mare I Dunno claiming a win at Wangaratta on Tuesday to back up its earlier triumph at Albury on October 14.
Hanley gives both horses a chance this weekend given the recent conditions.
“They’re both trying, if it was a bit wetter it would have been better because they like wet tracks,” Hanley said.
“He (Chew Toy) has been going alright, the other bloke (Equal Chance) has been a bit ordinary, but he needs a wet track.
“The track isn’t going to be as rock hard as it has been, it will have a bit of give in it which is nice.
“Hopefully it’s a five or a six and we get a bit more rain to keep it a little bit moist.”
Bradley Vale has picked up both rides for Hanley for the meeting.
“He rides a lot of horses for me,” Hanley said.
“He’s won on both of them, so he knows the horses.”
Like the majority of trainers in the region, Hanley has been impressed with the work done to the track throughout the year.
“It’s in really good condition, it’s soaking up the water well,” he said.
“It was something they really needed to do and it looks like it has been a success.”
Hanley has six horses in work and will look to target numerous race meetings with them early next year.
“We go where we think we can win or there’s a race that’s suitable,” he said.
“I’ve been as far as Bathurst and we’ve won races at Dubbo, so the travel doesn’t worry us.”
Hanley considered starting I Dunno on Saturday, but will hold her off until Albury’s next meeting on December 16.
Race one is at 1.53pm.
