The annual New Year’s Eve race meeting is set to be bigger and better than ever, with plenty to keep the entire family entertained.
“We’ve got lots of new rides, face painting for the kids, as well as the music,” club president Sue van de Ven said.
“There’s also fancy dress fashions on the field for the little kids, so when you consider there’s only 25 minutes between each race, there’s not a lot of time to do all that.
“We’re looking to improve the event all the time.
“It’s difficult to come up with new ideas and so on, but we have plenty of new, young blood on the committee which is great to see.
“We have our Carnival of Cups in February, but I think this is the biggest evening for the community more than anything else.”
The first of eight races commences at 7.10pm, with the last to start at 10.52pm.
Live music will continue right up until midnight, before a fireworks display to see in the New Year.
