The result is the biggest winning margin in Victorian ties and one of the highest in the FFA Cup’s five-year history.
Reigning AWFA leading scorer Adam Burchell picked up where he left off from his record-breaking 2017 season with another five goals.
George Elkotta netted five of his own, while Connor Heffernan, Raff Molinaro and recruit Dan Kelly finished with doubles.
A Swinburne own goal added to their woes, making it 17 in total for the day.
Twin City Wanderers also played their clash against Old Ivanhoe at South Wangaratta Reserve, scoring an 8-2 victory.
The Wanderers’ charge was led by a five-goal haul from Michael Shimmin.
Twin City president Harry Wilhelm was very pleased with the performance, considering it was quite a young side.
Myrtleford automatically progressed to the first round due to a forfeit from Westside Strikers.
Cobram Roar was the only AWFA side not to get through, falling 5-1 to Boronia at Shepparton.
The draw will be completed on Monday.
Meanwhile, the 2018 AWFA draw has been released with league and cup champions Myrtleford to host Albury City in round one.
In other season openers, Melrose takes on last year’s cup finalists Cobram, Albury Hotspurs meet Wodonga Diamonds, St Pats clash with Albury United, Boomers square off with Wodonga Heart, while Wangaratta and Twin City go head-to-head in Wangaratta.
