John Osmond’s first solo exhibition at The Secret Cup features a range of nature-based imagery.
“I love landscapes, probably the best way to put it is anything that doesn’t really involve a lot of people,” he said.
Osmond said he had been unemployed for much of the past nine years and saw photography as a way of breaking that cycle.
“It’s one of the things that keeps me going through each day,” he said.
The former coach driver and graphic designer said the number of cameras in everyday life was adversely affecting the industry.
“Part of the problem is that people think that taking professional photos, you can rock up, point the camera and snap,” he said.
“There’s a lot of thought involved, a lot of problem solving, you’ve got to be flexible as well.”
The exhibition continues until March 26, with a Meet The Artist on Sunday between 1pm and 2.30pm.
