The match featured heavy rain at times, but the 35-year-old, in his return season after almost two years away, was best on ground.
“’Penda’ kicked a few out of his backside,” stunned team-mate Nick Meredith said.
“Mate, he just kicks goals from wherever he wants.
“In the last quarter it was bucketing down but he kicked it from the boundary line.”
Pendergast finished with four, along with Marty Brennan, while Andrew Dess chipped in with three.
