Andrew Buller Wines will offer Rutherglen Muscat affogato while Lake Moodemere Estate will whip up Rutherglen Durif chocolate cupcakes.
Victoria’s longest-running wine festival, Winery Walkabout, will return on the Queen’s Birthday long weekend of June 9 and 10.
Nineteen Rutherglen wineries will offer something to taste, sip and savour behind every cellar door.
Food and wine enthusiasts will have the chance to discover some of the region’s stand-out wines including Rutherglen muscat and Rutherglen durif.
There will be a range of back-vintage tastings, behind-the-scenes winery tours and varietal masterclass experiences.
Warming winter food highlights over the weekend include Mexican street food (All Saints Estate), farm-grown duck sausages (Jones Winery and Vineyard), “low and slow” barbecue brisket (Warrabilla Wines) and Dutch pancakes (Campbells Wines).
The Rutherglen Rotary Country Fair will attract more than 300 market stalls on June 10.
There will also be live music and children’s activities between 9am and 3pm.
Other highlights include The Apex Great Australian Barrel Rolling Competition and The Apex Rutherglen Grape Stomp.
General admission tickets will be available until May 31 before a last-minute ticket price applies until June 10.
Designated drivers will get free festival entry and soft drink vouchers.
