The club started the event in the wake of former coach Karl Jacka’s death from the disease last year.
Rutherglen president Greg Lumby admits it will always be a special day on the calendar.
“It’s something that’s pretty close to out heart and something we’ll continue for years to come in different ways,” Lumby said.
“The ladies have got a high tea planned in the clubrooms which they’ve done for the last eight years or so.
“They’ve been raising $5000 or $6000 each year, but last year was something like $25,000.”
A number of prizes will be up for grabs through raffles and auctions, while Helifly will drop 500 golf balls after the game with nearest to the flag winning $1000.
All proceeds from the day will be donated to Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre.
