Northern Knights’ 6.9 (45) to 1.9 (15) victory was set up by 30 unanswered points in the first term – which ironically was the final margin.
The Bushrangers hit the scoreboard in the second term through Olivia Barber, but they still trailed by 29 at the main break and the Knights extended it to 31 at three-quarter-time.
A wasteful final term saw the Bushies boot seven straight behinds to one goal from the Knights.
Barber, Tamara Smith, Julia Harvey, Rebecca Webster, Claudia McKimmie and Mille Brown were among the Bushies’ best.
The ladder is: Geelong Falcons 36, Northern Knights 32, Sandringham Dragons 28, Eastern Ranges 24, GWV Rebels 24, Dandenong Stingrays 16, Murray Bushrangers 14, Oakleigh Chargers 12, Calder Cannons 8, Western Jets 4, Bendigo Pioneers 4.
