The offer to buy the land was first detailed to council last year, but an objection was raised on heritage grounds.
Even though the building is no longer in use it was situated in a heritage conservation area.
The Milthorpe Street property is flanked by council-owned land earmarked for the RV park.
Council will pay $3000 for the site, but will also be responsible for the building’s demolition or removal which could cost around $20,000.
Creation of an RV park in Oaklands has already attracted $87,173 in council funding.
A development application will be prepared to demolish or remove the building.
