Shop thieves caught out by targeted police operation

POLICE have issued 15 infringement notices and laid a further 10 charges during an operation targeting shoplifters.

Officers ran the operation on Thursday and Friday at shops in Albury and Lavington.

They also found two people with arrest warrants and a person with drugs.

A spokesman said shoplifting was a crime.

“It will not be tolerated,” they said.

“If you think you are entitled to a ‘five finger discount’, you can think again because we will catch up with you.”
