Senior Constable Luke Hawking, 42, appeared in Wangaratta Magistrates Court on Monday charged with one count of rape and two counts of indecent assault, which allegedly occurred on February 7.
Charge sheets state he allegedly “sexually penetrated (the victim) by introducing his finger into her vagina without her consent” and touching her in a sexual manner without consent.
Dressed in a black suit, he did not have to say anything during the short filing hearing.
The prosecutor from the Office of Public Prosecutions, who appeared in court via video link, said Hawkins had been charged on April 30 and asked the case be adjourned for a committal mention on June 21.
