VicRoads said lanes would be closed for resurfacing between 6.30am and 6pm today and tomorrow on the Murray Valley Highway.
Asphalt will be replaced in a section of the northbound lanes (Wodonga-bound) near the Bandiana army barracks.
One lane will remain open for traffic while the speed limit will be set at 40km/h.
The works depend on weather and could be extended.
The latest traffic information is available at traffic.vicroads.vic.gov.au or the VicTraffic app.
Road issues can be reported to the VicRoads Traffic Management Centre on 13 11 70.
