First reports indicated Houlihan, the sole Australian competitor in the Hellas Rally Raid, sustained multiple broken ribs and fractures in his shoulder blade but was still being assessed.
The rider was injured Sunday morning, Greece time, when he and another competitor collided on the course.
Albury Wodonga Motorcycle Club secretary Caroline Garlick said the club sent its best wishes to Houlihan.
“He has been a valuable member for many years and we do wish him a speedy recovery,” she said.
Motorcycle Life’s Steve McDowall also wished him well.
“We congratulate Andrew on his achievement in simply being there and making it through to the final day – something that many competitors did not achieve,” McDowall wrote.
