Zero degree temperatures predicted to chill the Border

Icy blasts and snow are predicted for the region across the week. 

Already close to 30cm has fallen at Mt Hotham since Monday, with another 40cm predicted across the weekend. 

Falls Creek received 12cm overnight into Thursday, with average depths of 17cm with man-made snow.

Blizzard conditions were expected to develop above 1400m overnight Friday, with snow falls expected as low as 600m across the weekend.

Temperatures are predicted to creep as low as -5 degrees at Mt Hotham and Falls Creek on Sunday.

On the Border, the Bureau of Meteorology predicts lows of 2 on Sunday, before the temperature continues to drop until Tuesday’s low of zero. With highs of 11 predicted on Sunday, and 17 on Tuesday.
