With most major chains having loyalty programs nowadays, it’s certainly become impractical to carry them all around with you. Thankfully plenty of people have flagged this problem already, and you can now store them on your smartphone.
To store them on your smartphone you’ll need to download an appropriate app. Each of the apps work slightly differently, so you’ll want to choose the most appropriate one first to avoid having to re-enter your data if you change later on.
Each of the apps work by taking in the barcode details of your loyalty card and then creating an image of the card, which is displayed on your screen.
You can then present this image at the register so that they can either scan it or key it in manually.
Apps like Stocard are solely for storing loyalty card details, while Google Pay, Samsung Pay and Apple Wallet store these cards along with credit or debit cards to provide the functionality of a traditional wallet.
If you’re using mobile payments then you may find it simpler to use the same mobile payment app to avoid having one more app on your smartphone.
While most of the apps have the major loyalty programs pre-loaded, not all of them will allow you to enter your own, so you may want to check this out before selecting the best one for you.
If your business has a loyalty program you may also wish to investigate having your loyalty cards added to the major apps to save time.
