McPherson Media Group executive chairman Ross McPherson said the defamation finding and costs awarded to Mrs Mirabella would not be contested.
“It’s the end of the matter,” Mr McPherson said.
“You’ve got to move on, which we’re doing.
“You put it down to experience, it’s the first time in 40 years I’ve been in a court for that type of thing.”
County Court judge Michael Macnamara awarded her $180,000 in damages and $118,000 in costs following a jury trial at Wangaratta.
Mr McPherson said it was “a big lump of cost but we will be able to deal with it and move on”.
“The Ensign will continue for many years to come,” he said.
