Dare’s Fruit and Veges will stop trading on Saturday after almost 30 years.
Co-owners Rebecca Hansen, Mike Hansen and Garry Taylor took over the specialty greengrocer on Elgin Boulevard four years ago.
“It is with sadness that we inform you that we have made the difficult decision to close the shop on 30 June, 2018,” Dare’s informed customers on its Facebook page.
“We thank you for patronage of the shop and we will miss your friendly faces and conversations.”
Dare’s founders Pauline Acott, Phillipa McGlee, Margot Dare, Michele Randon and Dianne Bain ran the business for 24 years before it changed hands in 2014.
The sisters sold fruit out of their parents' garage in Thomas Mitchell Drive before shifting to the Elgin Boulevard premises.
