Aboriginal Exhibitions Gallery at Rutherglen Estates is hosting its new exhibition Billy Doolan – Patterns of Life.
Curator Jamie Durrant said this exciting new exhibition was a comprehensive look at the symmetry and organic lines, intrinsic to the natural world, that Doolan translated to canvas.
“He does so in astonishing detail and with great beauty,” he said.
“Doolan’s paintings offer a sense of hope, promote peace and tranquility, and the importance for the continuity of all life via careful nurturing of the environment.”
Large scale paintings continue Doolan’s environmental message with themes such as Aboriginal stories, songs, the seasons, food and sacred places.
Mr Durrant said it was a rare opportunity for people to connect with a special part of our cultural heritage.
Aboriginal Exhibitions Gallery at Rutherglen Estates is a joint venture between Rutherglen Estates winery and Australian Aboriginal art collector, Hans Sip.
Billy Doolan – Patterns of Life runs until September 15.
