The four-year-old ($9) maintained his superb strike rate by claiming a one-length win over Call Me Handsome ($4.40) and Mr Gustavo ($101) over 1200m on Saturday.
“He (jockey Jamie Mott) just rode him beautifully, he just rated him perfectly in behind them, he box-seated and travelled third in the run and just peeled off their backs into the straight,” McCarthy said.
McCarthy will now target 1400m races in the new season at Caulfield, including the group one Memsie Stakes, before Perth’s Winterbottom Stakes.
