After leading 20-14 after 50 minutes, Thunder suffered a trademark lapse in concentration with the home team running in three tries in the next nine minutes.
Late recruit Matt Byatt was outstanding for Thunder while Reece Clegg, Shannon Rupapere and Liam Wiscombe also turned solid performances.
Damien Scott went off early with a knee injury.
Club president Rick O’Connell was offering no excuses.
“We haven’t been able to cut out those mistakes each week and it’s hurting us,” O’Connell said.
Adrian Purtell, Joel Monaghan, Jon Huggett and Keanu Wighton missed the clash.
The loss leaves Albury Thunder anchored to ninth spot on the ladder after 11 rounds with Purtell’s side playing Tumut at Greenfield Park on Saturday.
