The 41-year-old allegedly walked into the ANZ Bank at Lavington Square Shopping Centre at about 1.40pm Monday and demanded money from the tellers.
Detective Inspector Winston Woodward said no weapon was used and no one was injured during the incident.
Bank staff were able to raise the alarm and notify police, following the security protocols in place.
“The male has walked outside and a short time later he has been arrested by police,” Inspector Woodward said.
The Albury man was charged with demanding property with menaces with intent to steal.
He was refused bail and taken into custody, before briefly appearing in Albury Local Court on Tuesday where the case was adjourned to a later date.
