Mitta United missed the drive of key player Steph Ackland but were well served by goal defence Kirsty Baude and goal-keeper Stacey Donnelley.
“There has been a lot of improvement from our girls this year,” Mitta United coach Nicole Conway said.
“We have really pushed the top sides including Kiewa who we lost to by three goals.
“There isn’t a lot between the top and bottom sides this year which is good.”
Mitta United has promoted youngster Teagan Ellis in recent weeks.
Kiewa-Sandy Creek defeated Yackandandah 68-33.
Chiltern edged out DMB 46-40, Wahgunyah defeated Beechworth 64-30 and Barnawartha accounted for Wodonga Saints 47-28.
