Benalla Library will play both background host and star of the ‘A day in the life of a library’ exhibition across the next fortnight.
Project co-ordinator Jen Fawkes said as well as providing the budding photographers ample subject matter, the library setting was chosen to give back to the town after the group received a council grant.
She said it was a perfect place to capture a range of ages, moods and activities.
“I don’t think people realise how much happens in the library, it’s incredibly vital,” she said. “There’s lots of activity and energy.
“It was surprising to me, I grew up in the days where librarians had glasses and shushed any talking. Staff here are wonderful.”
Ms Fawkes said the exhibition featured around 40 images, from artistic shots to environmental portrait works.
