Meehan was hurt in a crusher tackle in the opening 15 minutes at Alfred Oval and taken from the ground by ambulance.
He said it was a relief to escape further damage.
“I was in a fair bit of pain and couldn’t breathe too much,” Meehan said.
“I could move my toes slightly and had some movement in the legs.
“My arms were fine.
“It was a bit of a scare.”
Meehan suffered muscle and rib damage to his lower and middle back and will see a doctor again on Wednesday morning.
He returned to Albury on Monday afternoon.
“The boys stayed around at Young which was good of them,” he said.
The outside back has been told not to play for two months which means his season is over.
