Zauner Group Investments has lodged a development application with Albury Council for the creation of a multi-level car park in the north western corner of the existing car parking area fronting Griffith Road.
Subject to approval the car park will have ground and first floor parking spots with vehicle ramp and pedestrian stairwell.
The car parking area in question presently has 79 spaces.
But an additional 38 spots will be created with 61 at ground level and a further 56 on the first level.
The project is valued at $690,000.
Northpoint Tower opened in 2013 with Zauner Construction being founded on the site by the late Rudy Zauner in the late 1950s.
The company had modest beginnings as it operated initially from an old Bandiana army hut.

The Blakely’s red gum tree, which is being retained, was planted around the same time.
Councillors this week were briefed on the development application which includes 1.2 metre high, laser cut steel 'gum leaf' stencil screen panels on the first level.
Deputy mayor Amanda Cohn queried the potential of vandalism with council planning department team leader David Christy.
“We’re comfortable with the concept of the additional floor. It is just around its appearance and interaction,” he said.
The existing black, powder-coated palisade see through fencing fronting Griffith Road will be reused and externally facing concrete columns and panels are proposed to be painted and not left as plain, grey concrete.
First floor carpark shade structure fitted with solar panels are also proposed.
“The measures will facilitate visual integration of the car park with the streetscape of Griffith Road consistent with good urban design planning outcomes,” Zauner Group Investments planning consultant James Laycock said.
Northpoint Tower is the head office of Zauner Constructions and other tenants include a cafe, WAW credit union and Lavington Library and customer service centre.
