“Is there a chance of him pleading guilty?” magistrate Rodney Brender asked Harley Turner’s solicitor in Albury Local Court yesterday.
“There is,” Graham Lamond replied.
That came after Turner’s friend, Billy Bolton, 23, died when his unregistered dirt bike, without headlights, struck the utility in Howlong on Thursday about 8.30pm. He wasn’t wearing a helmet.
Turner, 28, made a brief appearance on charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, driving a stolen car, disqualified driving and using an unregistered motorbike.
Mr Lamond asked for a two-week adjournment to allow Turner to secure his legal representation.
Turner’s bail was continued for his next appearance on August 14.
