MILESTONES GALORE
Tallangatta duo Andrew Wood and Rhett Thomson will play their 150th and 100th senior games, respectively, when the Hoppers host Yackandandah on Saturday.
Wood was a late convert to football, playing hockey until his mid-teens.
He played his first game as a 16-year-old in 2005 and was a member of the Hoppers’ 2009 and 2015 senior premiership sides.
Wood was also a best and fairest winner at Walla in his 54 games with the Hume league outfit.
Thomson lines up for his 100th senior game this week and has also played more than 100 junior games for Tallangatta.
Other than last season at Henty, Thomson has spent his entire footballing life at Tallangatta and played alongside Wood in the 2015 premiership.
Meanwhile, Brandon Taylor will play his 50th game for the Wodonga Saints at home against Chiltern this weekend.
BUSY WEEKEND
Wahgunyah’s clash against Barnawartha on Saturday features as the WorkSafe Game of the Month.
Danny Frawley, netball personality Eloise Southby and a current AFL player will provide entertainment.
Meanwhile, Rutherglen and Thurgoona will meet in the organ donation round game.
Other Tallangatta league clubs will be wearing Zaidee’s rainbow laces during the round in support of organ donation.
OAK FM will broadcast the Cats and Bulldogs clash live from 1pm at Rutherglen on Saturday.
