The 51-year-old brought plenty of attention to himself on January 6 by travelling at 111km/h on the 80km/h Bonegilla Road, in an unregistered car without a licence.
His vehicle was swerving over the road and when police got to him on the Murray Valley Highway, Privett was clearly drunk.
He failed to put his handbrake on, struggled to put his thongs on, and was grabbed by an officer before he fell onto the road.
He returned a reading of 0.244 back at the station.
Privett told magistrate Stella Stuthridge on Tuesday “I’ve got no excuse for driving” and said he couldn’t remember the day.
She banned him from driving for 25 months and fined him $100.
