After not playing a game for the majority of June, St Pats are the only team to feature every weekend leading into finals, drawing seven consecutive games while the other five clubs have had at least one bye.
They take on Wodonga Diamonds at La Trobe on Sunday – the team they will likely face in their first final.
St Pats’ assistant coach Mike Fruend admitted it has been hard for the side to gel until now.
“It’s been a disjointed year, so we want to play our best football towards the end,” Fruend said.
“We didn’t (hardly) play any football in June and then we came up against (Albury) United the first week and that’s probably been our biggest loss for the year.”
Diamonds young gun Tyler Maiolini said the side is confident, but knows they can’t take too much from their 2-0 victory against St Pats in round 17, given Patties’ key absences.
