Peter Walsh blasted ministers tied to the so-called red shirts affair, saying they should stand down while a police investigation occurs.
Asked by The Border Mail if his argument was hobbled by the member for Ovens Valley facing fraud charges, Mr Walsh was dismissive.
“Not at all, not at all,” Mr Walsh said.
“Tim is not a minister, the six ministers...who are part of that police investigation into the red shirt rorts under any Westminster convention should stand aside.
“I just think they’re showing absolute total disrespect to the political system and particularly to Victorians.”
Mr McCurdy left the Opposition frontbench after being charged and faces a committal hearing in October.
