Baude polled 30 votes to finish ahead of Rutherglen’s Emily Browne, who finished second with 27 votes.
A former Mitta junior, Baude said the win had taken her by surprise.
“I honestly didn’t expect it, not at all,” she said.
“All season I didn’t think I was playing great netball.
“Unfortunately we didn’t make the finals this season, we had a few struggles getting players, that sort of thing.
“We’re really rebuilding and hopefully we’ll make an impact in the next few years.”
Baude was also named in the interchange on the Team of the Year.
In the B-Grade netball, Chiltern’s Petrina Sanderson polled 24 votes to win ahead of Barnawartha’s Michelle Anderson.
Kami-Lee Kimball, from Thurgoona, took out the C-Grade award with 27 votes ahead of Monique Mona, while Chiltern’s Zoe Elliot won the 18 and under best and fairest.
Hawk coach leads Team of Year
KIEWA-Sandy Creek’s Kath Evans has been named the Tallangatta and District Netball League’s Coach of the Year.
The Hawk mentor has taken the club to second spot on the A-grade ladder with the side meeting Thurgoona in Saturday’s qualifying final at Sandy Creek.
Gun Kiewa-Sandy Creek player Haylee Penny was selected as goalshooter with Rebecca Cameron and Ellen Cook on the interchange in the Team of the Year.
Evans said it was a huge honour to be recognised.
“I fell into the job because nobody else wanted to take it on,” Evans said.
“It’s my first time coaching at senior level, the girls have been really appreciative and I’ve had a lot of senior help as well.”
Tallangatta has the second biggest representation in the side with Anna Avery and Karina Cameron making the line-up.
Thurgoona’s Michelle Hensel was named Volunteer of the Year and Yackandandah’s Simone Lane took out Umpire of the Year.
