With the 20-year-old recently being promoted to the Giants' senior list in place of the injured Will Setterfield, Sproule shapes as a smokey for a late call-up.
Giants’ NEAFL coach Adam Schneider said Sproule had improved dramatically since the start of the season.
“He’s been fantastic for us this year,” Schneider said.
“He’s been thrown virtually everywhere on the ground.
“We‘ve put him down back and he picked up 30 touches, we’ve thrown him into the ruck and he’s obviously played mainly as a forward.
“He’s been huge.
“The improvement he’s made is an absolute credit to him.”
Sproule also spent time on the GWS senior list last season when Adam Kennedy was placed on the long-term injury list.
He was named as an emergency to play Hawthorn during that time.
"It's definitely an opportunity," Sproule said.
"I've got to keep training hard and playing well and hopefully in the next month something happens and I might get a call up.”
An injury-hit GWS take on Melbourne in the final round at the MCG on Sunday.
Sproule was picked up by GWS as an academy selection in the rookie draft.
Originally from Osborne, Schneider has coached plenty of Riverina youngsters this season including Zac Williams, Jeremy Finlayson, Harry Perryman, Setterfield, Lachie Tiziani and Sproule.
