The Thurgoona Community Action Group, working with the Albury Conservation Company, Thurgoona-Wirlinga Landcare, the area’s men’s shed and other organisations, aims to reduce waste production and impact in the community.
TCAG member Tracie MacVean said Sunday would be the first of a number of clean-up days run by the group.
“Our first community War on Waste event on August 14 brought around 25 to 30 people together to talk about local recycling and waste issues,” she said.
“These clean-up days will be a good opportunity to meet new people and learn from each other about recycling and waste issues in our community.”
Residents are invited to the clean-up day, registered with Clean Up Australia, at Ernst Grant Oval in Thurgoona on Sunday from 10am to midday.
