Welfare pension officer Lisa Iverson said all funds stayed in the club’s area, which includes the Border, Henty, Corryong, Khancoban and Beechworth.
The club supported 629 widows, 32 children, nine special needs dependants and nine contemporary families.
“It could be putting food in the fridge for them, it could be paying for firewood, it could be for the children, paying for school shoes or uniforms, just basic welfare,” Mrs Iverson said.
