Albury youngster Brady Morton might have deservedly gained the plaudits for his late goal, but it was the long-time guns who guided the club to another grand final.
Chris Hyde (29 disposals) was sensational in the frenetic final quarter, Luke Packer, Daniel Cross and Joel Mackie had their moments, while Kieran Ellis hurtled through the centre to gain the ground for Morton’s major.
“They’re super, the old veterans, they know when to step up and, as you saw, ‘Hydey’ took those two super marks,” impressive teenager Jake Gaynor said.
Gaynor topped the Tigers’ disposals with 30, with Cross (27), Mackie (24) and Luke Daly (23) also featuring at crucial times.
“You can’t put that experience into players, you only get that by game-time,” Raiders’ coach Daryn Cresswell said.
Raiders won enormous praise, with Alex Daly, skipper Jydon Neagle, Jackson Kelly, Brodie Filo and Shane Munro terrific.
