Deadly Questions, launched by the Victorian government in June, allowed anyone to ask something without fear of offending or appearing ignorant and be answered.
Nineteen per cent asked specific queries about Aboriginal cultures and traditions like face and body painting, dancing and family names.
One in six asked what could they do to be an ally and support, including what Aboriginal Victorians wanted from the treaty process.
Deadly Questions spokesman Richard Frankland said many of the questions were thought-provoking and challenging but some showed there remained a significant gap in understanding.
“I have been asked many times what treaty means and to me it means hope,” he said.
“This is an opportunity for our cultures to share and take pride in this iconic step forward together.”
