Held in the township of the previous year's local award winner, Tumbarumba will host the award after June Whittaker's success in 2017.
Fellow Tumbarumba writer Sulari Gentill will be the guest speaker at the October 20 function and awards presentation, which will also mark the 60th anniversary of Elyne Mitchell's seminal work, The Silver Brumby.
The award, named after the esteemed writer, celebrates not only The Silver Brumby, but her life's work as a writer, publishing a total of 36 works of fiction and non-fiction throughout her prolific career.
The awards, to be held at Tumbarumba's Nest Cafe, are the 10th instalment of the annual ceremony.
June Whittaker's winning entry from last year will be read by students from Tumbarumba Secondary School, while gardening writer Trisha Dixon will also be in attendance.
