Woods polled 62 votes, coach Rick Whitehead was runner-up on 56, with Chris Anderson and Luke Bokic rounding out the top-four in the count.
Brodie Oates was crowned best first year player, while Josh Marx won the coaches award.
“He’s (Woods) a bit of a vote-getter, he’s always going to get votes because he’s pretty crafty,” Whitehead said.
“He’s going to be tough to beat wherever he plays, he’s a very good player.”
Meanwhile, Ash Van Klaveren has returned home to Chiltern from Wodonga Raiders and signed as assistant coach.
“He obviously played all his footy out there (at Chiltern) before coming to the Raiders,” Whitehead said.
“His talk and his leadership will be good for us because that’s what we lacked this year.
“He’ll also bring a bit more professionalism at training.
“We’re trying to get those types of blokes to the club who lift the tempo.
“He’s a bit of a general in the backline and organises everything, so that will definitely help all the other young blokes like Caleb Boxall and Brodie Oates.”
Whitehead is contracted for another year as coach.
