The bike had no lights and he wasn’t wearing a helmet.
A cross had been placed at the scene of the crash on Lowe Street following the incident, along with flowers, a Howlong Spiders jumper and other items.
The cross and other property were removed by someone on Wednesday.
Loved ones took to social media to express their disappointment.
“Billy's mates put up a cross where he passed, a place my family and his mates need to have, as it was the last place our beautiful boy was alive,” Kacee Skrypczak said.
“To have this place is crucial to our healing.
“Today (Wednesday) some low life has taken the cross and absolutely everything that was there, including photos.”
Ms Skrypczak said the death had “destroyed” the family.
“Billy was so important to us,” she said.
“Billy was so loved by us.”
The late man was more than just a cross on the side of the road, she said.
Others expressed similar feelings.
Ms Skrypczak said the family would replace the cross, which had not been returned by Thursday, but urged whoever took it to put it back.
