Alcott spoke on Friday to guests at The Cube Wodonga during a luncheon in aid of the Rotary Club of Wodonga West’s Annual Bogong Youth Leadership Camp.
This followed his appearances at a charity tennis challenge and fundraising dinner and auction on Thursday.
About 240 people attended the dinner, which achieved its $100,000 target to be shared between the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre Trust and Junction Support Services.
Friday’s luncheon, supported by ANZ and The Personnel Group, attracted council representatives, employment service providers and community members.
The Personnel Group business development manager James Smith said the audience responded well to Alcott’s presentation.
“Everyone was just in awe, just how somebody could achieve that in life before the age of 28,” he said.
“His main story was around maintaining a positive perception. So it’s all about resilience, no matter what adversity you go through in life, to stay positive and look at all the things you can do, not the things you can’t do.”

Mr Smith said such an attitude was relevant to his own industry of helping people gain jobs.
“The main thing that we battle with, I guess, with our clients is maintaining resilience and looking at the positives,” he said.
“Confidence plays just such a huge role in what we do on a day-to-day basis.”
