Three distance runners from Wodonga Athletics Club impressed at the Harrietville Half Marathon on the weekend.
Kevin Muller was fourth overall, while Nadia Mellor and Mike Mellor won their respective age groups.
This was the third leg of the Alpine Trifecta which includes the Bright Half Marathon, Mount Beauty Half Marathon and the Harrietville Half Marathon.
The trifecta has only been going for two years, with 57 people running the half marathon at Harrietville.
A further 24 people did two of the three events and only 18 completed all three races this year, with Mike and Nadia two of three competitors to complete back-to-back Alpine Trifectas.
“It’s a very well organised, scenic half marathon put on each year by the friendly people of Harrietville,” Mike said.
Nadia added “it’s a tough course all uphill from Bright to Harrietville”.
Wodonga Athletics Club distance runners complete regular long runs in training for this and other distance events such as this weekend’s Melbourne Marathon and Half Marathon.
For people wanting to get involved, details on these runs can be found by contacting Wodonga Athletics Club via email, firstname.lastname@example.org.
