One of the association’s best players, the classy left-hander finished 27th on the run-scorer’s list with 294 at a bitterly disappointing average of 24.5 with just two half-centuries.
“I was probably embarrassed more than anything,” he said when quizzed on the 2017-2018 season.
“Everyone sets their own standards and what output they want to give and I didn’t get to half of what I wanted to be.
“It was no one’s else’s fault than my own.”
Cameron says there were a number of reasons for his poor form, but he’s adamant the hunger has returned.
The 27-year-old posted 48 from 46 balls against the best bowling attack in Lavington and followed that with an unbeaten 71 in last Saturday’s first 50-over game against Albury, with two sixes and eight boundaries.
The Eagles surprisingly missed finals last season, grabbing only five wins.
