Jarrod Williams, Matt McNamara and Kyle McNamara spent the past two years at Upper Murray outfit Corryong – tasting success in 2017, but couldn’t resist the urge to return to Tigerland.
Barnawartha coach Peter Cook is rapt to welcome back the experienced trio.
“We spoke about one of our games midway through the year and mentioned we had six or seven players from the 2013 flag, which wasn’t that long ago,” Cook said.
“To get these guys back will only better us come finals, without getting too far ahead.
“We’re not going to lose too many, and, if we continue to add some recruits, it’s going to be in our favour.
“‘Red’ (Williams) is obviously a forward, Matty McNamara will hopefully spend a bit of time on the ball and I’m not sure about Kyle yet.
“We’re hoping we might be able to use his experience and a bit of poise down back on a half-back flank.”

Cook admitted Barnawartha has always been a club that pushes progress and improvement, which they are now being rewarded for.
“We have a lot of guys that come out of our juniors and we assist them to go into town if they want,” he said.
“There’s a few clubs around that obviously don’t want to see their young guys go, but the benefit of it is they come back to you.
“That happened last year with Josh and Brad Star back from Lavi and it will continue to happen if we have that same mentality of trying to improve their footy.”
Meanwhile, centre-half-back Ben Kunkel and key forward Mitch Exton have signed with Benalla.
Exton coached the Tigers in 2016 and 2017.
